Hello Everyone & Happy December
"..une voix chaude, trainante et sensuelle."
In this issue:
With the new year and a new decade on the horizon, I wanted to touch base and let you know that I have a concert coming up, a brand new CD coming out and an all new website being launched!
The Ship - Sun, Dec 6 @ 7PM
I am very happy to be returning to the Ship Inn with guitarist extraordinaire, Charlie Barfoot of the Dogberries and multi-instrumentalist Andrew Dale of The Once backing me up. In addition, I have invited singer/songwriter Paddy Barry as my very special sibling guest. Find more details about the show this coming Sunday on the events page of my new website.
New Music - Tout en Français
After three months developing new French repertoire, I will be featuring material from my very soon to be released CD entitled Chansons Irisées, (pronounced eer-ee-zay), which is my first full length recording in French. The beautiful painting by Denise Pelletier forms the backdrop of the CD's cover art.
Besides my originals, the album features the work of Québecoise poet Christine Bernard, whose songs are lauded as true classics for their clever lyrics and sublime melodies. The CD was produced by Gilles Vigneault's arranger and musical director, Bruno Fecteau. It has everything from Piaf to Brel, French waltz to cabaret, a blues in 5/4 and even a country song!
I am very honoured to be interpreting and working with such gifted artists and am very grateful to the Newfoundland & Labrador Arts Council for believing in my project. I can't wait to have the discs on hand, in the stores and on the airwaves. I will soon be posting a page called Chansons Irisées on the website which will reveal all the details.
